Bedtime Antics

The hour or so before bedtime has become quality family time as we get the kids bathed and dressed in their PJs with enough time before lights out for quiet play time and reading together. Nathan has become a real leader during this play time - walking Ally and Jamie through a number of imaginative scenarios. Just this evening he and Jamie were working at a construction site. They put "helmets" in the form of nylon IKEA storage bins on their heads and pretended to ride the elevator in a partially constructed building. "Press the button with the 2 on it, Jamie! This floor has no floor, we better go to number 3!" Usually in the final minutes, the kids will read or do puzzles together until it's time for mommy put the twins down with a few rounds of "I love you." (Barney-style) and Nathan gets some one-on-one storytime with daddy.

"C comes after B, C comes after B, C comes after B...."practises Jamie while Nathan chooses the next ABC book.

"ROOOCKETTT, rocket! Ally, can you say rocket?" Nathan helps Ally identify pictures in the ABC books.

All three love to pretend to sleep together in Nathan's big-boy bed.
