Roughing It - Sort Of

This weekend we jumped at the chance to spend a few days with Nouno, Nouna and Will at their cottage! The kids had a fabulous time playing in the sandbox, decorating cupcakes, singing songs, going for boat rides to the ice cream store and just playing around. However, the crowd was split 3:1 when it came to the water. Will and Nathan swam and played in the lake like sea otters (sea otters that float only because they're wearing life jackets, but you get the picture). Ally quickly graduated from the kiddie pool to floating around the lake in a little inflatable boat or on pool noodles, and by the end of the weekend she definitely protested vehemently when it was time to leave the water. Jamie finally agreed to play in the kiddie pool, but even by our last swim on Sunday was only dipping his feet in the lake.

The weekend was made a little more interesting for the adults due to the fact that the power remained out (due to Wednesday's storm) until mid-Sunday morning when we were joined by several other couples for the day.
